The design team at Bártfai-Szabó Architects was given a building in need of extensive technical renovation as their starting point. However, instead of didactic design, after considering the reasons for the previous building’s defects and usage anomalies, they incorporated the most fundamental reorganization of the mass and floor plans into their concept, while preserving the original character as much as possible.
